Our ongoing commitment

Our commitment to the Global Compact reflects our continued dedication to sustainability and corporate responsibility. By adhering to this initiative, we commit to align our operations with the Ten Principles and to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Jordi Cañas Guerra, Partner Director of ICA-Grupo, underlines: "Our track record with the UN Global Compact is a testament to our enduring commitment to sustainability and the creation of a more sustainable and equitable world".

Commitment to a sustainable future

ICA-Group is committed to contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future, and this alignment with the UN Global Compact is a significant step in that direction. We will continue to seek innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact and promote equity and sustainability in everything we do.

ICA-Group continues its green commitment: new purchase of an electric 100% company car

ICA-Group continues to pursue its commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability by upgrading your 100% electric company car. In 2016, we became one of the companies certified and adhered to the programme of Voluntary Agreements for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Catalonia, demonstrating our firm commitment to the reduction of these gases responsible for climate change.

In line with our constant search for more sustainable ways of operating, we have decided to renew our company vehicle, once again opting for an electric 100% model. This new vehicle will provides greater autonomy and allows us to further reduce our environmental impact.

Electric mobility has become an excellent alternative for environmentally committed companies like ours. While mobility is essential for our daily activities, we believe it is essential to do so in a sustainable and responsible manner.

According to a recent study by the European Environment Agency (EEA), transport is responsible for more than a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. The transition to electric vehicles is therefore a significant contribution to reducing our environmental impact and working towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

More autonomy, zero emissions:

A few years ago, we acquired our first electric vehicle, a Renault ZOE, but now we have taken a step forward by replacing it with an Opel Corsa also 100% electric. This new vehicle offers a longer range and more sustainable performance, allowing us to continue to drive our first electric vehicle, a Renault ZOE. meeting our GHG emissions reduction targets.

Contributing to a cleaner future:

Transport is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions in many companies. With this acquisition, ICA-Group continues to contribute to the reduction of emissions in its sector and joins the global effort for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

ICA-Group's commitment to sustainability does not stop here. We will continue to look for innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact. Stay tuned for our next initiatives!

On 6 November, ICA-Group received the certificate of adhesion to the Voluntary Agreements for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GEH) in Catalonia.

The voluntary agreement is a seal of quality for companies and organisations in Catalonia that accredit a clear commitment to reducing the gases responsible for climate change. Through this programme, ICA-Group and 162 other companies voluntarily undertake to draw up an inventory of emissions each year and to plan and implement measures to reduce them.

Gerard Cañas, Industrial Engineer and Partner of ICA-Grupo, was in charge of collecting the certificate at the event organised by the Catalan Office of Climate Change of the Department of Territory and Sustainability.

The Voluntary Agreements programme was set up in 2006 with the aim of providing organisations with a framework in which to show their commitment to reducing GHG emissions. In eight years, 163 organisations have joined the programme, one of which is ICA-Group, which have adopted actions aimed at reducing energy consumption.

One of the improvement actions planned by ICA-Grupo's management is the acquisition of an electric company car for 2019, which will drastically reduce the CO2 emissions generated by the company's journeys. In addition, as an expert engineering company in energy efficiencyThe improvements will not only be implemented at ICA-Group but will be extended to all customers.

At ICA Group we are committed to combating the effects of climate change and to the constant search for solutions that promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
